Ingredients
  

  • 1 whole turkey 12-14 lbs
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2 tbsp fresh thyme chopped
  • 2 tbsp fresh rosemary chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C).
  • In a bowl, mix the softened butter, thyme, rosemary, garlic, salt, and pepper.
  • Gently loosen the skin of the turkey and spread the herb butter underneath.
  • Place the turkey in a roasting pan and cook for about 3 hours, basting occasionally.
  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  • Let the turkey rest for 20 minutes before carving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, stuff the turkey cavity with lemon halves and fresh herbs.
  • Save the turkey drippings to make a delicious gravy.
